Carol Turner
Carol is a retired fine arts teacher for middle and high school students. She holds a Bachelor of Art Education degree and a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction. She is a board certified teacher. Carol served as department chair for the Fine Arts Department at Cheyenne Mountain Junior High where she spent 21 years. Since retiring in 2022, she occasionally steps back into the classroom as a substitute teacher.
Before moving to Colorado in 1996, she taught 15 years in her home state of Oklahoma. She greatly enjoyed her career and excelled as an art educator. She connected with her students and encouraged them to achieve and show their individual accomplishments. Her students became known for their creativity and workmanship in many competitions for young artists. In 1989, Carol was named Teacher of the Year for Cleveland Public Schools.
Today, Carol continues to be "Mom" to her three adult children and "Mimi" to three grandchildren. She spends her free time with her family, Jax the cat, and her large dog Finn. Carol keeps busy by involving herself in home renovation projects and playing golf. Carol mostly enjoys creating both two and three dimensional art. She is a multifaceted artist who specializes in mixed media and unique, one of a kind jewelry.
