Robert Lococo

Robert Lococo is a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a full time artist. He began his art career at the age of twelve as the youngest member of the High Country Artist Association, and student of watercolor under renowned artist, Herman Raymond. His love for birding and exploring natural places led him to capture birds in photographs, and he realized their movement, expressiveness, and beauty was a joy to paint and sculpt as well as capture on film. Lococo’s works are always evolving; a broad range of mediums, from traditional watercolors, to bronze sculpture, to woodblock prints and three dimensional oil paintings on masonite. His love for woodworking and blending sculpture and paint processes compels him to meticulously craft each one of his canvases from wood. Cut outs, holes, and organic shapes are a feature of many of his pieces, as well as a range of finishes, from textured oil to glass-like epoxy.
