Tidal Relic Earrings

The sea leaves behind the most extraordinary little sculptures.

For these one-of-a-kind earrings, I cast two distinctly different seashells in solid sterling silver, preserving their ridges, spirals and wonderfully imperfect textures. Brilliant Paraiba apatite glows above each shell like a glimpse of tropical water.

I intentionally paired two different shells. I love the unexpectedness—the sense that they might have been discovered while wandering the shoreline, separate treasures that somehow belong together.

The sterling silver is oxidized and polished to reveal every detail of the original shells, giving them the feeling of something ancient, weathered and found.

Tidal Relics are small pieces of wearable sculpture—a celebration of the beauty the sea creates, and the way time leaves its mark.
