Diane Pelto is an oil painter of the natural world and finds inspiration from her many years residing in the picturesque west, in Colorado Springs.

A special focus in her work is that of horses, being drawn to their extraordinary power and elegance. Her fascination with horses began in early childhood and she has been involved in the equine world for much of her life.

Diane's paintings lean away from realism and she uses vivid color, light, and movement to bring her paintings to life. Having spent decades practicing anesthesiology, she is relishing the freedom of artistic expression and is continually challenging herself and growing as an artist.
